An opportunity has arisen to work at our oak framing construction site based in Malmesbury, Wiltshire. At Made in Oak we design and make traditional oak frames and structures for commercial projects and private homes and gardens. Our frames are predominantly machine cut and hand finished before being assembled pre-delivery or installed onsite but some work is required to be cut by hand.

Permanent (subject to passing a 3-month probation period)
Job Description
Working around the CNC machine where digital frame designs are cut to produce complex joints, duties will include:
Using hand and power tools safely to finish the frames in our workshop
Test fitting frames prior to site delivery or collection
Hand framing cruck frames and other curved components
Onsite frame installation
Maintaining a tidy work environment
Monitoring stock levels and assigning wood for specific jobs
Person must be/have
General wood working and handling skills including safe operation of various woodworking machinery such as planers, bandsaws and chainsaws
Hundegger CNC operator experience useful but not essential
NVQ level qualification in Structural Post and Beam Construction is desirable, but not essential
Full, clean driving licence
Forklift licence useful but not essential
CSCS site card useful but not essential
Be able to work at height
A good understanding of timber grading would be useful but not essential
Be able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team
Complying with all safety regulations and guidelines, with the upmost regard to our Health and Safety policy at all times
Honest, reliable and hardworking
You must be eligible to work in the UK
Salary: £25,500-28,000 per year
