CNC Machinist |
An opportunity has arisen to work at our oak framing construction site based in Malmesbury, Wiltshire. At Made in Oak we design and make traditional oak frames and structures for commercial projects and private homes and gardens. Our frames are predominantly machine cut and hand finished before being assembled pre-delivery or installed onsite but some work is required to be cut by hand.

Job Description
Working with the CNC machine where digital frame designs are cut to produce complex joints, duties will include:
Operate CNC machine to produce timber components
Be able to read and interpret technical drawings
Collaborate with the Director and assembly team for efficiency and accuracy
Perform routine maintenance and be able to troubleshoot
Ensure quality control and be able to constantly review for accuracy
Be able to choose timber and assign for specific jobs and orientate correctly
Assisting with onsite frame installation when not operating the CNC machine
Using hand and power tools safely to finish frames in our workshop
Maintaining a tidy and clean work environment and adhering to all safety protocols
Monitoring stock levels
Person must be/have
Proven experience as a CNC operator, preferably in the timber industry
Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings
Experience with maintenance and troubleshooting of CNC equipment
General wood working and handling skills including safe operation of various woodworking machinery such as planers, bandsaws and chainsaws
Hundegger SC3, CNC operator experience desirable
Hundegger planer operator experience desirable
Knowledge of Timber Framing useful
Full, clean driving licence
Forklift licence useful
CSCS site card useful
A good understanding of timber grading would be useful
Be able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team
Complying with all safety regulations and guidelines, with the upmost regard to our Health and Safety policy at all times
Honest, reliable and hardworking
You must be eligible to work in the UK
Salary: £30,000-£35,000 per annum, subject to experience
